Duno 11th in ARCA Series at Michigan International Speedway Brooklyn, Mi. (June 17, 2013) – Milka Duno was doing her best to score her second top-ten finish of the season – but just barely missed it – and crossed the finish line 11th in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Patriot Pumps 200 at Michigan International Speedway. It was Duno’s sixth top-fifteen finish in the eight ARCA Racing Series competitions so far this year. For her first visit to Michigan International Speedway in a stock car, Duno was 13th in the practice session on Thursday and qualified 13th as well in the qualifying session leading up to the 200 miles /100 lap early-evening race on Friday. Duno pitted during three of the race’s four cautions and received tires and fuel with each stop while adjustments were made to her No. 35 Cantv/Milka Way Toyota. Increasing her “best lap” speeds throughout the race, Duno set her fastest race lap on lap 93 in her quest to capture the 10th-place spot. “This is a very tough, fast track,” said Duno. “It was my first time here in a stock car and it was definitely a steep learning curve. I was really working hard for a top-ten and we were so close. I was very disappointed that we didn’t get it. But an 11th place finish here my first time out – I’ll take it.” "Milka continues to rattle off consistent top-fifteen finishes and now finds herself in a really solid spot in the points,” said Billy Venturini, Director of Competition for Venturini Motorsports. Duno remains 7th in the ARCA Series Driver Point Standings as she heads to her first stock car race on the 4.048-mile road course at Road America on June 22nd. # # # About Milka Duno Off the track, Duno is a certified Naval Engineer who holds four master’s degrees, earning the last three simultaneously.
