DUNO TO TEAM WITH LAMMERS FOR PAUL REVERE 250
NASCAR'S Tony Stewart to Join Duno, Wallace and Lammers
June 27, 2004 - CITGO Racing will repeat a two-car effort for the second
time this season in the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International Speedway
in Daytona Beach, FL June 30-July 1, 2004. CITGO Racing and Howard-Boss
Motorsports will field two entries - the #2 CITGO-branded Pontiac Crawford
Daytona Prototype driven by Milka Duno and Jan Lammers and the #20 CITGO-branded
Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype driven by Andy Wallace and Tony Stewart.
Fans and journalists alike will remember that CITGO Racing and Howard-Boss
entered two cars in the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona. NASCAR stars
Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. teamed with Andy Wallace in one
car, while NASCAR star Robbie Gordon joined Milka Duno, Doug Goad and
Stephan Gregoire in a second car.
Milka has driven twice with Jan at both the recent 6 Heures du Circuit
Mont-Tremblant in Canada and the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins
Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York. For these two endurance
races Jan joined season-long driving partners Milka and Andy. The trio
delivered a 5th place overall finish at Canada and a 7th place overall
finish at New York.
"I've really enjoyed racing with Jan these last two races,"
commented Milka. "He brings so much experience to the effort and
I feel that we work very well together. I look forward to running with
him at Daytona and think that we have a good chance for a good result.
It is great to have Tony back for the race too! I know that he had a
lot of fun driving the race with Andy and I look forward to seeing him
again. I'd also like to thank CITGO for letting us field this two-car
effort for this race and for the opportunity to team again with Tony."
The Paul Revere 250 is the 6th race on the 12-race Rolex Sports Car
Series schedule and will be held at Daytona International Speedway as
part of a slate of racing that includes the Busch Series' Winn-Dixie
250 and the Nextel Cup Series Pepsi 400.
The Rolex Sports Car Series race will be on Thursday night, July 1
at 11:00pm EST and will be a 250-mile, 70-lap sprint race on the circuit's
3.56-mile road course. The race will occur right after the qualifying
session for the Nextel Cup event.
