TONY STEWART & JAN LAMMERS RACE AGAIN WITH ANDY WALLACE, MILKA DUNO
AND THE CITGO SQUAD
August 11, 2004 - For the third and final time this season CITGO Racing
will field a two-car effort for the Sahlen's 200 at The Glen at Watkins
Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York on Friday, August 13, 2004.
NASCAR star Tony Stewart will again team with Andy Wallace in the #20
CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype, while Milka Duno and Holland's
Jan Lammers will race the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype.
Milka has teamed with Jan three times this season - at the 6 Hours
of the Glen, the 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant and the Paul Revere
250 at Daytona. Stewart raced with Andy and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. at the
Rolex 24 at Daytona, and with Andy at the Paul Revere 250.
"It has been great racing with Tony and I look forward to him
racing with us again this weekend," said Milka. "Tony, Andy
and Dale very nearly won the Rolex and then Tony and Andy were very
close to winning the Paul Revere. While Jan and I will certainly be
doing everything possible to win this weekend at the Glen, I wouldn't
be at all disappointed if my teammates Tony and Andy win. Jan and I
raced this track together in June and we did well - with all the improvements
that have been made on the car since then - I feel that we should have
a good result. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the four of us could deliver
a 1-2 to CITGO on Friday!"
With 8 races of the 13-race 2004 Rolex Sports Car Series Championship
completed, Milka is currently 4th in the Drivers Point Standings and
the team is 3rd in the Team Point Standings. The team's engine supplier,
Pontiac, is 1st in the Daytona Prototype Engine Manufacturer Standings
and the team's chassis supplier, Crawford Composites, is 2nd in the
Daytona Prototype Chassis Manufacturer Point Standings.
When the team raced at the Glen in June they did so on the circuit's
3.4-mile course, but for this event they will race on the shorter 2.45-mile,
11-turn course - the same as the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race on Sunday.
This configuration features a variety of banking in the turns ranging
from 6 to 10 degrees.
The Sahlen's 200 at The Glen will be televised same-day tape delayed
on the SPEED Channel beginning at 10:00pm EST on Friday, August 13.
