MILKA DUNO TO RACE FIRST TIME AT MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR COURSE JULY 20

LEXINGTON, OH (July 15, 2008) – Racing in her #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda, Milka Duno will make her second debut of the season at the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, presented by Westfield Insurance, this Sunday, July 20.  This will be Duno’s second road course race with the IndyCar Series, which will air 1:30 p.m. on ABC.

“After giving a tremendous effort at Watkins Glen, I’m excited to return to another road course with my Dreyer & Reinbold team,” said Duno.  “In preparation for Sunday’s race, I will be testing at Mid-Ohio with Peter Argetsinger, Skip Barber Racing School Instructor and one-time British Formula Ford Champion.”

Widely known as the “most competitive” in the U.S., Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a permanent road course with a 2.4-mile, 15-turn configuration and a 2.25-mile, 13-turn layout.  Among the track’s signature turns are the Keyhole, the Esses, Thunder Valley, and the Carousel.   Duno’s ninth race with the IndyCar Series.  Her next race is Kentucky Speedway on August 9.

As part of Duno’s visit to Ohio, she will be participating in a Racing for Kids® event at the Akron Children’s Hospital, located at One Perkins Square, in Akron, Ohio, on Thursday, July 17, at 10 a.m.  She will be on hand with Robbie Buhl, former IndyCar driver and Racing for Kids national spokesperson, to make bedside visits and sign autographs.

Duno is the only female Hispanic to be racing in the IndyCar Series and was the only female driver to finish at the 2008 Indianapolis 500. 

Off the track, Duno is a certified Naval Engineer who holds four master’s degrees.  Duno appeared in the May 2008 Warner Bros. movie, “Speed Racer.” and launched a new, bilingual children’s book, “Go, Milka, Go!”
