BLUEGRASS STATE WELCOMES MILKA DUNO FOR DEBUT AT MEIJER INDY 300 AUGUST 9

SPARTA, KY (August 5, 2008) – Racing in her #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda, Milka Duno will make her third debut of the 2008 IndyCar Series season at the Meijer Indy 500 at Kentucky Speedway this Saturday, August 9.  This race, featuring for the first time three female drivers, will air live on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m. EST.

 “After back-to-back road courses, I’m looking forward to being on the starting grid of another oval and introducing myself to Kentucky’s enthusiastic race fans,” said Duno.  “I also took advantage of a full day of testing at Kentucky Speedway last Friday.  We were able to make a few adjustments to the car, and I feel more confident coming to the track with my dedicated Dreyer & Reinbold team.”

Kentucky Speedway is a state-of-the-art facility that features a 1.5 mile tri-oval with 14-degree banking.  This will be Duno’s ninth race with this year’s IndyCar Series.  Her next race is the Raceway at Belle Isle Park on August 31.

Duno will also be making a “pit stop” at the Duke Energy Children’s Museum at Cincinnati Museum Center, 1301 Western Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday, August 7, from 10 a.m. to Noon.  She will tour the museum with math and science students from Shroder Paideia High School and read her new bilingual children’s book, “Go, Milka, Go!” to a younger group of children. 

Duno is the only female Hispanic to be racing in the IndyCar Series and was the only female driver to finish at the 2008 Indianapolis 500.  Off the track, Duno is a certified Naval Engineer who holds four master’s degrees.  Duno recently partnered with MANA Milka Way to inspire Hispanic youth to “Aim for the Stars” and achieve academic excellence and appeared in the May 2008 Warner Bros. movie, “Speed Racer.”  For more information, visit www.milkaduno.com.
