MILKA DUNO ON THE CRISTINA SHOW’S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
Special Airs Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10pm EST on Univision

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 11, 2009) – IndyCar driver Milka Duno will appear on The Cristina Show’s 2009 Christmas Special “Sonando Contigo” Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10pm EST on Univision. “Sonando Contigo” (“Dreams Come True”) is the show’s annual Christmas celebration and Duno will appear along with popular Spanish television personalities Fernando Colunga, Carlos de la Mota and others.

In the holiday spirit of “dreams come true” the show and Santa Claus come filled with gifts for the very special and surprised guests of the Christmas special.

Duno appears in a segment featuring Centro Latino for Literacy in Los Angeles. Centro Latino for Literacy offers free reading and writing classes to immigrant adults who have come to the United States looking for a better and brighter future for their families. Most of these families live at or below the poverty level. Their children – whom Centro Latino provides care for while their parents are in class – don’t often receive Christmas gifts. So, the Cristina Show and “Sonando Contigo” are taking Christmas to Centro Latino for Literacy in an effort to bring some happiness to these children by throwing a Christmas party for them, Santa Claus and gifts included.

The children, so proud of their parents, they sit with them every night before bedtime and read with them to help both themselves and their parents improve their reading skills. With a goal to offer inspiration and hope to the children and to reinforce the importance of education, Duno and her “Milka Way” program gave all the children copies of her award-winning children’s book “Go, Milka, Go!” Duno presented the books to AnaMaria Ruiz, Literacy Campaign Director for Centro Latino for Literacy.

“It was such a wonderful experience to be a part of this special show and have the opportunity to contribute to such a worthwhile organization,” said Duno. “The holiday season to me is about spending time with family and friends and reaching out to people in need. Cristina gave me a gift this season – the chance to be part of Sonando Contigo and an opportunity to support the parents and children of Centro Latino for Literacy.”
