MBD Sportscar Team

MBD Sportscar Team In 2002, the newly formed MBD Sportscar Team will field two cars in the American Le Mans Series as well as the 24 hour of Le Mans. New Panoz 07 cars mated to brand new Mugen 4-litre V-8 engines, built specifically for the ALMS LMP 900 cars will start the season at the Sebring 12 hour race in March. Mugen is indirectly related to the Japanese giant of automobile technology, Honda. Indeed, Mr. Hirotoshi Honda himself plans to be at Sebring to see the engines run in anger for the first time.

The technical and mechanical support for the MBD Sportscar Team will be in the very capable hands of Larry Holt and his dedicated team in the Canadian company Multimatic.
Sporting director for the operation is the legendary British driver Vic Elford.

Drivers for the new MBD Sportscar Team are confirmed as Didier de Radigues from Belgium, Milka Duno from Venezuela and Canadians John Graham and Scott Maxwell. It is no co-incidence that the first three finished in the first three positions in the 2001 ALMS LMP 675 drivers championship! Additional drivers for the endurance races, Sebring, Le Mans and the Petit Le Mans have yet to be named.

Milka, who has already been dubbed by the press as the "first lady" of LMP 900 will be facing her greatest challenge yet. But in the words of Vic Elford, her coach and mentor for the last three years, "I have yet to see a challenge that she cannot meet - and beat".
